Mark Dakin Mark Dakin has vast experience of over 20 years in the hotel and hospitality industry, guiding and leading deluxe hotel operations. Most recently stepping aside from Managing Director at The George, Christchurch. Mark brought innovation and guidance to the role leading to extraordinary achievements during his time at the helm, 1991-2004. Both Mark and the hotel won numerous domestic and international hotel and hospitality awards. In his time at The George Mark was an active member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, being the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Mark is a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, a professional organisation demonstrating leadership in the areas of corporate governance. Mark has stood on the advisory boards of hospitality training institutions and acted as a consultant to the hospitality industry, both in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the Pacific. In addition, Mark has been actively involved with numerous other industry related associations, including the National Executive for Restaurant Association, International Hotel Management, International Culinary Professionals of America and Chaine des Rotisseurs.
